UFC President Dana White took to Twitter and shared his immediate reaction to a sensational short-notice performance by Kevin Croom. The fight took place on the preliminary section of the fight card that is headlined by Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill. Moreover, UFC lightweight’s Roosevelt Roberts and Kevin Croom were towards the top of the billing and were expected to perform.

The 155-pound scrap lived up to the hype as Croom pulled off the massive upset victory over Roosevelt Roberts. “The hard-hitting Hillbilly” secured a nasty-looking Guillotine choke in just 00:31 seconds of the very first round. Additionally, Croom was coming in on just a day’s notice and was a heavy underdog on the lines against Roosevelt.

“Holy Sh**! He took this fight on one day’s notice. He was a 4 to 1 underdog and he was fighting up a weight class and he just won that fight. No matter what happens tonight you know that dude is getting fifty grand.”

What’s more, the showcase by Kevin Croom is more impressive, considering Roberts’ status as a highly touted prospect. Following an impressive stint on “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series”, the 26-year-old in Roberts was on the map. He then put in two more impressive showcases and had the division on notice.

However, he has somewhat lost his footing as of late, going 2-3 in his last five outings in the promotion. Although a loss to a grizzly veteran is nothing to hang his head about, “The Predator” will be keen to return to winning ways. Furthermore, the 155-pound division requires fighters to stand apart with dominant wins to enter into contention.

The divisional champion in Khabib Nurmagomedov has sent the bar exceedingly high with his reign in the division. Not to mention, the division has historically been a shark-tank of top tier combatants who are hungry for gold. Kevin Croom will be happy to enter the promotion on a high note and enter the radar of President Dana White.
