However, despite his emotional first main event fight and win, ‘Durinho’ had a humble demeanor as he called out Kamaru Usman.

Gilbert Burns would welcome a fight against Kamaru Usman

In the post-fight interview following his dominant win, ‘Durinho’ opened up on what he sees next for himself.

“Come on, I love the champ my training partner Kamaru Usman but come on give me a shot. Dana White, Hunter. Kamaru I want to fight for the title. I got respect and a lot of love for you, but I think I’m next. I’m next, I’m right there.

“He beat former Champion same way. I don’t know, maybe even better. I wanna fight for the title, I’m next. If they wanna make a fight July come on I’m free. Just beat the former champ, I have no scratch or nothing. I can fight in July man, come on I want to fight for the title.”

‘Durinho’ dominated right from the opening minute. He nailed ‘The Chosen One’ with a mean right hook and opened up a cut over his left eye. Within the first minute, he had him on the ground. Later, Woodley managed to power up to a vertical base but was never able to threaten ‘Durinho.’

Later, in the fourth round, ‘Durinho’ landed a series of shots starting with a knee to the midsection. This was followed by a left hook, a right hook, and a couple of more lefts to leave ‘The Chosen One’ reeling.

While chatting with ‘DC’, the Brazilian said he is good and ready and his call out will certainly set the cat out among the pigeons in the Welterweight division.

Do you think such a dominant display over one of the longest-reigning champions makes Gilbert Burns a shoo-in for the title fight?
