Katlyn Chookagian equals Valentina Shevchenko’s divisional wins record

‘Blonde Fighter’ dominated throughout by decimating Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko’s sister Antonina Shevchenko. All three judges scored the fight 30-25 in favor of the 31-year-old who made her return to the Octagon just 3 months after failing in her bid to dethrone ‘Bullet.’

‘Blonde Fighter’ commenced the fight in dominant fashion. She stopped a kick from ‘La Pantera’ and took her down. The 2nd ranked flyweight contender maintained her advantage for the remainder of the round.

In round 2, ‘La Pantera’ tried to defend however, she only delayed the inevitable. Once Chookagian secured the double under hooks it was back to the mat for the duo. The elder Shevchenko was unable to make an impression. However, she managed to survive and take the fight to the 3td and final round. But it didn’t seem as though her opponent was going for it.

Fans may assume ‘Blonde Fighter’ was taking out the frustrations of her loss at UFC 247 as she pounded the hapless ‘La Pantera.’

In the final round, Chookagian attempted to experiment and didn’t take the fight to the ground immediately. She started striking from a vertical base. However, ‘La Pantera’ was wary of getting too close with the knowledge of the first 2 rounds still fresh in her head. Eventually, as the fight ended the duo were back on the mat.

While many assumed ‘Blonde Fighter; would call out ‘Bullet’ following the dominant display she instead dropped a bombshell.

Chookagian said, Honestly, I still have so much fight fever but I’m also starting to get a little baby fever. So I’m just trying to get these fights in as fast as I can.”

Will the UFC reward Chookagian with a rematch for the title and let this be one of the fights she hopes to get in quickly?
