UFC Lightweight’s Thiago Mioses and Jalin Turner are set to duke it out in a high-level battle set for September 5. The fight takes place on the main card for UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs Sakai at the Alex Facility. The event is part of the UFC’s goal to put on exciting fans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aforementioned lightweights burst onto the scene on their respective seasons of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contenders Series in 2018. Chiefly, since then, they have both found split success going 2-2 in the world’s leading MMA organization. Moreover, the similarities in their career thus far go a long way in providing an even playing field for both athletes.

UFC Lightweight’s: Thiago Moises vs Jalin Turner

The Brazilian fighter in Moises has never been stopped as a professional in his 13-4 career. All his losses have come by the way of decision and he’s exhibited a significant level of toughness. What’s more, Thiago Mioses is fresh off a win against game veteran Michael Johnson back in February of 2020.

Michael “The Menace” has significant octagon experience as has faced the likes of Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov. The 25-year-old in Thiago Mioses has displayed great prowess on the ground with 6 of his 13 wins coming by way of submission. Moreover, he’s adept at wrangling the fight to the ground and expertly advances position.

Jalin Turner has managed to put the 155-pound division on notice after displaying his heavy hands in his career. He has secured a KO/TKO victory in 8 of his 9 career wins thus far heading into a fight with the Brazilian. However, he hasn’t always displayed the best cardio once the fight tapers off towards the middle of the 2 round.

Additionally, “The Tarantula” steps forward in a wide stance and is often susceptible to a single leg or high-crotch transition. With a dangerous ground fighter like Moises, he will have to be wary of the incoming takedown threat. Moreover, Thiago manages to chain together submissions and will look towards Turner gassing out as the final bell nears.
