UFC middleweight Marcus Perez welcomes former KSW multi-division champion Dricus Du Plessis in the Flash Forum at UFC Fight Night. The 185-pound division as a whole is one of the most exciting divisions, and the talent pool keeps expanding. Not to mention, both the fighters have plenty to prove on the massive stage that Fight Island has afforded international fighters.
Weigh-in showmanship aside, Perez is no joke under the bright lights and is hungry to bounce back from his recent loss. The Brazilian hasn’t been too consistent thus far, but comes in having faced fairly competent opposition. He will be keen to swipe some shine off du Plessis, who comes in with plenty of hype.

Dricus du Plessis comes into the promotion with a wealth of high-level MMA experience and is more than just a debutant prospect. His victories have shown a wide range of skills, and he’s comfortable in all realms of the fight game. ‘Stillknocks’ has never seen the judges’ scorecards throughout his 14-2 professional career that began back in 2013.
The divisional king Israel Adesanya has held a lofty standard for fighters in the 185-pound weight class. His outstanding championship-caliber has called for all contenders to collectively step-up their overall game.
UFC middleweights: Markus Perez vs Dricus Du Plessis
Markus Perez will be keen to take the fight to the canvas where he can chain together lethal grappling submissions. Dricus will be quick to exploit even the smallest signs of slowing down, and Perez will have to be wary.

Du Plessis’s premier advantage over his opponents is his ability to be defensively responsible from the get-go. Whilst looking to mount a methodical offense, he continues to stay out of harm’s way effectively. Additionally, his ability to chain together combinations while stalking his opponents towards the cage is second to none. Should he stay responsible on the canvas, this fight is truly his opportunity to make a big splash.
