His opponent, Anthony Ivy, began the fight by pressing the action forward in the initial moments of the bout. However, Christian Aguilera’s counter-movement was on full display. Not to mention ‘The Beast’ caught Anthony Ivy moving forward and hurt the welterweight against the cage.

The fight quickly unraveled from there as Aguilera landed a lighting quick uppercut that signaled the end.

Anthony Ivy was set to step in on short notice for Ian Heinisch at UFC 250. The latter almost withdrew from the fight when a cornerman initially tested positive for COVID-19. However, further tests came back negative, and the fight went on as planned.

Although ‘Aquaman’ Ivy is coming off 5 consecutive victories, he will need to re-assess picking short notice fights going forward. The UFC Welterweight division is brimming with contenders, and cracking the top 15 is no mean feat.
