The first UFC women’s bantamweight fight of the night delivered in a massive way as Germaine de Randamie won the contest. ‘The Iron Lady’ cranked on a nasty guillotine choke over Julianna Pena in the third round of their contest. What’s more, Germaine shattered the perception that she was just proficient in the striking realm with her statement finish.
The contest was split between the middle going into the final round and Pena seemed to be the fresher fighter. Germaine de Randamie spent a large part of the previous round on her back trying to fight off submission attempts. However, the former 145-pound champion made her intentions clear as she snagged a choke that put Julianna out.
