Weaver was set to collide against Frank Camacho at the event. Likewise, Jalin Turner was to fight Thiago Moisés at UFC Fight Night 176.

Their respective opponents withdrew, following positive coronavirus tests. Hence, the UFC permitted the fight to take place at catchweight 165 pounds. ‘The Tarantula’ made the most of this opportunity and secured his tenth career finish for a tenth win.

Turner kept Weaver honest and made him think twice before going for a takedown. He landed leg kicks at will before punching him onto the ground. However, Weaver escaped and lived to fight another round.

‘The Tarantula’ made the error of assuming that the fight was over in the second. He appeared to walk off, but Weaver maintained the grounded fighter posture as ‘The Tarantula earned perplexed reactions from the commentary team who called for him to finish the fight. However, he let the fighter regain a vertical base and finished him a few seconds later.

Jalin Turner makes his opponent quit

Jalin Turner quickly capitalized on the left hook from a few seconds earlier. After being denied a KO win, he cranked up the pressure. With seconds left in the second round, Turner had Weaver on his knees near the fence. He mounted the black trunk clad fighter and turned him over, having gripped his neck. Weaver tried to make it to the end of the round, but ‘The Tarantula’ had locked the hold in convincingly.

As a result, Weaver tapped with 41 seconds left in the round to hand ‘The Tarantula’ his second win in succession. As soon as the referee Herb Dean waved off the fight, an exuberant Turner screamed, “let’s f***ing go”

For Weaver, this was the second loss in succession via a rear-naked choke. He lost in this fashion at the UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs Burns card in May.
