Marvin Vettori finally got to enter the Octagon after what he describes as “6 months of hard work.” ‘The Italian Dream’ beat 4.5 lbs over Middleweight limit Karl Roberson via a rear-naked choke in the first round of their Catchweight clash. Later in the post-fight press conference, he issued a mega challenge to Israel Adesanya.

Marvin Vettori calls out Israel Adesanya

‘The Italian Dream’ had bad blood with ‘Baby K’ ahead of the fight. The duo was involved in a lobby incident at Jacksonville, Florida after Roberson pulled out of the match last month. They finally clashed at UFC Fight Night: Eye vs Calvillo and the event got yet another first-round finish. It was the 4th of the night after the first 3 preliminary card fights which were stopped within a minute each.

After the fight, ‘The Italian Dream’ was loud as he called for a top 15 opponent. Later in the press conference when probed by Paul Felder he said, “Listen everybody’s been dodging me right now I don’t think they can hide anymore. I’ve some support back home at the back of my name. So f**in let’s go. I want names.”

At this point, ‘The Italian Dream’ would have been pumped up on adrenaline following his 3rd win on the bounce and out the UFC Middleweight Champion.

“I want to climb back to the title shot and get my rematch with Adesanya. It was so close. We have to redo it. No matter who says I won it, who says he won it. We have to redo that. He speaks more about me than anybody else. And I’ve not even wrecked yet so f**k yea, we have to do it again. And I have to climb myself.”

As of now, ‘The Last Stylebender’ is set to face Paulo Costa who is the 2nd ranked contender. However, a Vettori fight could be enticing as he is the only fighter to deny Adesanya a Unanimous decision win (at UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs Gaethje) in a fight that has gone the distance.

Will the UFC consider this fight?
