UFC bantamweight Davey Grant came out with the comeback win against Jonathan Martinez in the second round of the contest. The end came off the back of a left hook from hell that sent Martinez tumbling to the canvas. Jonathan Martinez was winning the fight prior to the TKO loss, and he’ll have to head back to the drawing board.

Until the finish came, the fight had the shades of a possible ‘Fight of the Night’ performance. However, the end was extremely definitive, and the bout went from ‘Fight of The Night’ consideration to a ‘KO of the Year’ contender. The finish was such that there was no need for any follow-up strikes from Grant.

Martinez is now 2-2 and will need to drum up momentum once more in the crowded bantamweight division. He’s had a mixed 4-3 UFC run, and many believe hasn’t been able to live up to his potential so far. Like many talented UFC upstarts, he’ll have to find a sense of rhythm and consistency every time he competes.

Things are looking up for Davey Grant as he’s now earned two straight T/KO finishes, in a violent fashion no less. He has already faced some well-known fighters like Marlon Vera, and Manny Bermudez, and is only adding to his resume.
