UFC strawweight fighter Mackenzie Dern pulled off a dominant submission win over number five ranked fighter, Nina Nunes. The Brazilian grappling ace made sure her ground game would trump that of Nunes as she secured a tight first-round armbar. Nunes had no choice but to tap despite there being merely 10 seconds left on the clock.
Nina Nunes was returning to the octagon after a long lay-off and had just given birth in the interim period. However, she was well prepared for the fight and was confident that her striking would pull her through. But, it wasn’t to be as Dern proved once again she’s on a serious run towards the UFC title.
