UFC Fight Night: Gane vs Volkov- Marcin Prachnio vs Ike Villanueva: Prelims Prediction and Analysis

Light heavyweights Marcin Prachnio and Ike Villanueva will go head-to-head on the preliminary card for UFC Vegas 30. Both men are explosive powerhouses and fans have circled this scrap to end in violent fashion. The fight card is full of match-ups that are flying under the radar of the casual fanbase.

The light heavyweight division isn’t the most stacked division in the UFC and it’s not too hard to construct a meaningful run. Both Prachnio and Villanueva have showcased fresh looks in their bouts thus far that have been promising. A massive showcase victory would go a long way in deciding the ceiling of the victor.

UFC Vegas 30: Marcin Prachnio vs Ike Villanueva

Prachnio picked up a win in his last outing against Khalil Rountree at UFC 257 in January. He’s 1-3 in his UFC run thus far and desperately needs to begin picking up the pieces. He’s shown a lot of promise as a ONE Championship fighter, but that’s not translated in the UFC.

Prachnio believes he has what it takes to pick up the mantle of becoming the next champion out of Poland. He’s got a box heavy style that gives him an edge in the defensive realm, especially against close-range strikers. The use of effective leg kicks could very well be the difference-maker in the contest.

‘Hurricane Ike’ viciously KO’ed Vinicius Moreira in his last fight and snapped a two-fight skid since joining the UFC. Much like his opponent, Villanueva came into the UFC off the back of a strong showing from his previous organization. Ike Villanueva has several different attributes that make him a viable candidate to be a dangerous contender.

Villanueva has a wide array of striking weapons and he’s not afraid of getting creative inside the cage. Moreover, he manages to mount offensive blows to the body as well as the head, thus creating new openings to exploit. Marcin Prachnio will benefit from staying at range and will have to be wary of Ike Villanueva’s check counters.

Prediction: Marcin Prachnio to claim a unanimous decision victory
