Claressa “T-Rex” Shields is perhaps one of the most accomplished female boxers in the world. The American has held the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles simultaneously, making her only one out of seven people to do it. She was won the Olympic Gold twice. Her boxing record is perfect with 10 wins and no losses.
On multiple occasions, Claressa Shields has been vocal about starting a career in MMA. Given the talent that she possesses, we might even see her inside the cage. The President of the UFC, Dana White has spoken to Shields about her potential future in MMA.
In the past, there have been boxers who have teased a match in MMA, Floyd Mayweather is one of them. However, only a few have tried it. James Tony is a name that stands out from the rest. Tony attempted MMA but he was quickly submitted by “The Natural” Randy Couture.

Shields Throws Her First Leg Kicks
Recently, Shields posted a video on Twitter in which she is seen throwing leg kicks. This could be an indicator that she is thinking about a future in MMA. Shields also took a jab at the critics by saying: “Lol first time ever throwing a kick in my life! But as promised! Save the criticism, you guys couldn’t throw a jab like me on the first day 🥊❤ To be continued though, I enjoyed practice”
It seems like Shields eventually wants to transition to MMA and face the GOAT Amanda Nunes. But, it will take more than perfect kicks to succeed in MMA. Even if she does perfect her striking, there are a lot of elements that Shields will have to worry about including but not limited to wrestling and ground game.
