

Fighters are bound to suffer injuries when they put it all on the line to win. However, the injuries Gabriel Benitez sustained while taking on Omar Morales is something straight out of a horror movie.
Morales took on Benitez on the preliminary card at UFC Jacksonville, putting his undefeated record on the line. And it seems like it’s one more feather in the Venezuelan’s cap.
Several fans and MMA pundits claim that Morales has not yet faced a fighter of note. However, his potential and this astonishing win will undoubtedly impress doubters and bettors.

At first, Morales was looking to take on Alexander Hernandez at UFC 249 back in April. However, their fight fell through due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Coincidentally enough, the two fighters still wound up on the same card, but with different opponents. Hernandez will be taking on Drew Dober on the main card sometime later in the night.
Gabriel Benitez sustains horrific injuries
The Mexican southpaw will be limping away from the Octagon with more than just a loss. The nature of his injury was so gruesome that the UFC broadcast team issued a warning before displaying a close up of the fighter’s injury.

Gabriel Benitez eventually posted a picture of the gory injury to his Instagram account, captioned “Real power kick”.
This fight marked Benitez’s attempt to make his way back to winning ways, after suffering a KO loss to Sodiq Yusuff in the first round, at UFC 241 back in August 2019.
Benitez moved up to the lightweight division from the featherweight division after winning Ultimate Fighter: Latin America. Moggly picked this fight up at the last minute. Ahead of his fight against Morales, Benitez sported a record of 5-3 in the UFC.

On the other hand, the Dana White’s Contender Series veteran has picked up his second consecutive win in the UFC. And with the way he is going in the UFC, an opponent of note is the next stop for the ‘Venezuelan Fighter’.
