The light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones once again kept his streak intact as he defeated Dominick Reyes via unanimous decision. However, it was a controversial win. It was an extremely close fight. And one judge giving 4 rounds to Jones made all the fans questioned whether this fight was judged in a way a title fight of such caliber should have been judged.

Nevertheless, UFC 247 is in the books now. While it is hard not to notice the impressive performance Reyes put on last night, Jones’ rising up to the occasion in the championship rounds is equally impressive.

I got takedowns. He got no takedowns. I got his back. At one point I put a hook in. In the 5th round, I was surprised on the outcome difference we have. I got to watch the fight though. It’s hard to speak with confidence when you have not watched the fight.

Out of thirty fights, maybe three people have put me into an actual competitive match. Seeing me with black eyes, seeing me get punched is not something that happens every time I show up. So people definitely get really excited, even when an opponent throws a jab. At one point I fell to the ground, I wasn’t hurt and bounced back up, but the fans loved that! So it’s hard when people expect great things out of you at all moments. I’m still a martial artist like everyone else, I bleed, I have insecurities, I have weakness, I have pain right now.

Even if Jones sounds convincing when he says he won the fight many fans believe that Reyes should have been the new champion. So an immediate rematch between Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes makes the most sense even if Jones is eyeing for a heavyweight debut.
