UFC 246 featured the octagon return of former two-division champion, Conor McGregor against Donald Cerrone. Conor spectacularly finished the fight in a mere 40 seconds. And then came the moment the fans had been eagerly waiting for. Who does he call out next? 

There were some intriguing matchups ahead of Conor McGregor in both lightweight and welterweight division. The rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov, the trilogy fight with Nate Diaz, or a violent showdown with Justin Gaethje. However, the fan wanted Conor to call out the BMF, Jorge Masvidal.

After Jorge Masvidal dominated Nate Diaz to win the BMF title, Conor showed interest in the BMF title. Both fans and Masvidal were excited about this possibility. After campaigning for this fight leading up to UFC 246, Masvidal showed up in the arena for Conor vs Cowboy. 

Masvidal was in a Versace robe that was similar to the one Conor showed up during his open workout for Mayweather fight. However, Conor did not call out Masvidal in his in-ring interview and later he made fun of Masvidal’s robe saying:

“It was ridiculous. I don’t know what that was about. I don’t know. That’s a bit weird. I don’t give a f**k. ”

Conor even went on to say that the Grannies in Ireland put on similar robes. Recently Masvidal was asked about Conor’s response and the BMF came back with a befitting response. Masvidal said:

Jorge Masvidal on Potential Conor McGregor Fight

Talking about the potential fight with Conor, Masvidal said that he does not want to wait around for Conor. He is well aware that Conor is waiting for the outcome of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson. 

However, Masvidal is open to fighting Conor at the end of this year or maybe next year.

For now, Jorge Masvidal is likely to fight Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight title. According to Dana White, this fight might happen in July. If Masvidal wins the welterweight title then Conor is very likely to come after the welterweight title. But at the moment, Conor is focused on Khabib Nurmagomedov as informed by Dana White.
