Khabib Nurmagomedov Makes Big Announcement About His Brother Usman Nurmagomedov

After defeating Roman Golovinov at UAE Warriors 9, Usman Nurmagomedov made a statement at GFC 24. With less than 3 years of experience in MMA, Usman looked like a beast in his last fight. The Russian happens to be the cousin brother of UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov

Usman was able to stop his opponent in the second round. With a TKO victory over Ruslan Tuyakov, Usman improved his MMA record from 8-0 to 9-0.

Usman had Ruslan backed up to the cage after landing a flurry of knees. The referee had seen enough and decided to call off the fight. Although the Dagestan born Nurmagomedovs are predominantly known for their wrestling and ground game but Usman seems to be a complete fighter with the best of both worlds (Striking and Wrestling).

UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov was cage side during the entire bout. Post-fight, Khabib had the following words to say:

“I think in a year, towards the end of 2021, we’ll sign Usman (to UFC), barring any serious injuries. We have big plans for him.”

Having Usman in the UFC will be a step up in the competition for the Dagestani. A victory like that will put him on the UFC’s radar.

Dagestan seems to be a talent hub for MMA fighters. Besides Khabib, Zabit Magomedsharipov and Islam Makachev are two big names in the UFC. There are many rising stars as well

A lot of Dagestani fighters are hoping to join the UFC and with the talent they possess, it may not be long before we see the Dagestanis dominate in the UFC. The UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov helped give the Dagestanis the exposure they deserve.
