Big Blow for Conor McGregor, Lewis Hamilton & Serena Williams as LA Dodgers Owner Completes $5.3 Billion Chelsea Takeover

UFC has produced many stars over the years but its biggest superstar yet is Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor. Not only that, but the fighter has even become of the wealthiest names in the sport and continues to soar to new heights. With lucrative business investments in a whiskey brand, various pubs across his hometown, and other ventures, McGregor simply doesn’t want to slow down.

Looking at the recent ownership troubles faced by the EPL club Chelsea, McGregor showcased an interest in making the purchase. Amid the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, there were talks of the club getting a new owner.

The UFC star shared a tweet in this regard, stating his interest in the bid to take over. He even shared a tweet discussing the matter over WhatsApp and it further stoked the fire.

Not only that, but veteran FI driver, Lewis Hamilton, and Superstar Tennis player, Serena Williams also showcased an interest in making the purchase. According to a report by Mirror, a source made claims that both athletes were willing to invest $10 million, but unfortunately, things just didn’t work out.

A new report from BBC, states the transfer of owners from Roman Abramovich to Todd Boehly & consortium is now approved. The London-based club has been sold for 5.31 billion dollars. Despite McGregor’s interest in making this materialize, forming a team around the star would have proved to be quite difficult at the last minute.

Another report by Mirror, suggests McGregor could have become the ambassador for the consortium if such a deal took place. The UFC star has indeed earned a fortune for himself, but he doesn’t have the resources to make the purchase all by himself, “McGregor might be front of the house as far a consortium is concerned. He doesn’t have the resources himself, but he does make a fortune out of his own brand,” claims financial expert Kerian MacGuire.

With the sale concluded and the purchase approved, McGregor will have to look for other lucrative ventures. The superstar has already stated that he wishes to become MMA’s first billionaire and, with a similar investment like that, he could very well achieve it.
