There are millions of tennis fans that congratulated the legend. However, one Twitter account had some other views. One former UFC fighter saw the coronation of the Australian Open 2023 winner’s news as a moment to bring up last year’s drama.

Jake Shields takes a jibe at Novak Djokovic

Jake Shields never fails to be away from the news. The former UFC welterweight fighter always speaks whatever is on his mind. Moreover, he tries to get on the nerves of the people that he is targeting. Shields is known for his conservative and right-wing thoughts.

The controversial former fighter tweeted, “It turns out not having myocarditis is good for your athletic performance.” It remains to be seen what the Australian Open winner says about the tweet. Moreover, this isn’t the first time a UFC star has spoken about Novak Djokovic.

Shields also replied when Djokovic broke out the news that he wouldn’t be traveling for the US Open.

Djokovic wrote in a tweet, Sadly, I will not be able to travel to NY this time for US Open.” Shields replied to Djokovic, calling the action ‘honorable’.

As reported by Yahoo, the CEO of Tennis Australia Craig Tiley said, “To briefly quickly summarise those, one is obviously is having an adverse response to any kind of vaccine, something like an anaphylactic response. Another one is if you’ve just had major surgery and may or may not be suffering from myocarditis and another one, you are a recovered case. In other words you’ve had evidence of COVID, certified evidence of COVID over the past 6 months.”
