Yoel Romero is one of the most physically imposing fighters in the MMA world. Despite that, it was recently revealed that ‘Soldier of God’ has a particular fear. Romero, who is scheduled to fight at Bellator 297, did not attend the pre-fight press conference in person in Chicago. Many fans have shared their reactions to the incident.

Romero will go head-to-head against light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov for the title. It will be his fourth fight for the promotion since joining them in 2020. While he lost his debut Bellator fight, he registered knockout finishes in his next two bouts. That landed him an opportunity to fight for the title. However, even a fighter as strong and talented as Romero has his own fears.

What is Yoel Romero afraid of?

The press conference for Bellator 297 was held in Chicago, Illinois. However, ‘Soldier of God’ was nowhere to be found in attendance. The reason for his absence was the venue of the press conference, which took place on the 99th floor of Willis Tower. The building has 110 floors in total. For 25 years, the Willis Tower was the tallest building in the world. Romero apparently has a fear of heights.
