After Jon Jones took time off from the UFC, the promotion hadn’t seen a dominant performer in a while. There were a few big names that could sell big arenas, but a fighter like Jones was still not there. Then, the UFC lightweight division was blessed with one of the greatest fighters that the UFC would ever witness – Khabib Nurmagomedov.

There were a few ups and downs for ‘The Eagle’ in the initial stages. However, Nurmagomedov proved that he was the best of the best and went on to create an unbelievable 29-0 record, suffering no losses during his reign. Now, his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov is fighting in the UFC, and his younger brother, Usman Nurmagomedov is creating ripples in Bellator MMA. However, one fighter seems to think that Usman Nurmagomedov is not comparable to the UFC lightweight GOAT.

Brent Primus reveals the unfortunate fate of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s legacy

The impact that Khabib Nurmagomedov had on the UFC is unquestionable. After him, the torch is being borne by Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov. The legacy that stands today, has been created by their coach and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. Now, no finger has been raised at Umar Nurmagomedov or Islam Makhachev. However, it seems that former Bellator MMA champ Brent Primus has questioned Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s legacy by exposing a major flaw in the game of Usman Nurmagomedov – the current Bellator lightweight champion.

In an interview with The AllStar, the interviewer asked Primus if he also agreed with the thought that Usman Nurmagomedov hasn’t been as dominant or compelling a fighter as his cousin, Khabib Nurmagomedov. “No, I don’t think he’s been dominant like Khabib you know? Khabib usually wins almost every minute of every… fight, except a couple little exchanges on the feet or whatever but…“, replied Primus, agreeing with what the interviewer said.

He then went on to talk about the flaws in Usman Nurmagomedov’s fight game – flaws that he has noticed. “Even when I called him out like a couple years ago, I… I seen some flaws – seen some things that I think I can capitalize on.“, he pointed out.

When Nurmagomedov’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov passed away, ‘The Eagle’ retired from the UFC – undefeated. He passed his torch to Islam Makhachev, who is currently reigning as the lightweight champion. His cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov is making headlines in the UFC bantamweight division. Islam Makhachev’s UFC record stands at 24-1-0. His fight against Featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski was a really close one where he got dominated by the Featherweight fighter.

Umar Nurmagomedov is currently boasting a 16-consecutive win record with no losses. Usman Nurmagomedov has been undefeated for 17 fights straight. It seems that Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s training is paying off as all of his students are going out and showing the world how it is done. However, the common idea seems to be that no one has been as dominant as Khabib Nurmagomedov.
