Mark Zuckerberg‘s appearance on Joe Rogan‘s podcast was a pretty polarizing one. While some saw the appearance (and his recent decisions on DEI programs, putting Dana White on the Meta board, and the fact-checking changes on Facebook) as an attempt to pander to President-elect Donald Trump, other critics have been much more forgiving.

Those defending ‘Zuck’ include BJJ maestro Gordon Ryan, who has been defending the Meta CEO against criticism from his side of the aisle. And it seems the multiple-time ADCC winner, who was previously incredibly critical of Zuckerberg, can’t get enough of the tech titan. The latest evidence that Ryan may be changing his mind about the tech titan came as he posted an article reporting on Zuckerberg’s comments about masculinity on his Instagram Story along with a pretty amusing caption.

“If men in America were required to be on testosterone, it’d solve a majority of America’s issues”- gordon ryan, 6 months ago… and now there’s no tampons f***ing women’s bathroom!” Ryan wrote, sharing a screenshot from a Fox Business article titled ‘Mark Zuckerberg praises benefits of ‘masculine energy’, calls corporate America ‘culturally neutered”.

During his Rogan podcast appearance, the Meta CEO had expressed concern that the debate on toxic masculinity had “swung culturally to” some people saying that “masculinity is bad”, which he felt was totally unfair as “a culture that celebrates the aggression a bit more has its own merits that are really positive”.

Ryan apparently is totally on board with these views and didn’t waste any time in pointing out that he has been saying similar things for a long time. Of course, the bombastic BJJ legend couldn’t help but add his fresh take on the topic, but then again he is never afraid of speaking his mind no matter how much it ticks people off. However, this was not the first time in the past few days that the BJJ GOAT has agreed with Zuckerberg.

Gordon Ryan’s unexpected reaction to Mark Zuckerberg’s appearance on JRE

Gordon Ryan was seemingly pretty moved by the Meta CEO’s appearance on JRE. The BJJ ace took to Instagram and wrote a long and heartfelt post about his views on Zuckerberg and felt that maybe he had been too harsh in judging the tech mogul over Facebook’s previous fact-checking policies.

Ryan pointed out that he had previously detested Zuck, even having asked him to “light himself on🔥”, and had sent him a DM calling him “a total A-hole.” But, the BJJ maestro admitted that he felt Zuckerberg made “many good points that many people wouldn’t think of.” What seems to have pleased Ryan is that Zuckerberg was pretty open to criticism and admitted that he had made a mistake by being so heavy-handed in the fact-checking policies of his platform.

The martial artist applauded the Meta CEO for this and pointed out that “this amount of honesty is something that we don’t see a lot today.” However, Ryan was quick to point out that he was still on the fence about Zuckerberg but felt that the tech titan’s “mea culpa” at least warranted his critics (including Ryan himself) giving Zuckerberg another chance.

“I’m not so sure Mark is the bad guy I and many others made him out to be. I think we should give him a chance and stop demonizing him, maybe,” Ryan concluded. What do you think about Gordon Ryan’s reaction to Mark Zuckerberg’s comments about masculinity on Joe Rogan’s podcast?
