Charles Oliveira lays bare his conditions for a welterweight move

‘Do Bronx’ is gearing up for his lightweight title rematch against Islam Makhachev at UFC 294. As such, MMA journalist James Lynch recently interviewed him, and one of the questions he asked was related to a possible welterweight move for Charles Oliveira. The Brazilian has been a mainstay of the UFC’s lightweight division for a long time. However, he’s not opposed to a welterweight move, but there are a few conditions.

Oliveira mentioned that moving to the 170 lbs division will depend on the money he gets. Moreover, ‘Do Bronx’ could consider moving up if he feels like the time is right under favorable circumstances. “My future kind of depends on, you know, how things play out,” said Charles Oliveira via his translator. “If the money is right, the situation’s right [and] it feels good for me [then] a 100 percent.” Regardless of what holds in his future, ‘Do Bronx’ would be looking to avenge his loss and become a two-time lightweight champion.
