In a recent tweet, Poirier bragged about an insane belonging of his. ‘The Diamond’ went full-on Mike Tyson and was rolling in a black and yellow muscle car. Although he had an unexpected co-passenger. Poirier was riding with what appears to be a cougar, a large cat native to the U.S.
He posted the picture with an iconic quote from the movie ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’. Notably, his car also had a sticker that said, “Talladega Superspeed,” referring to the legendary NASCAR movie.

This is not the first incident of a fighter being related to a wild animal. Legendary boxer Mike Tyson used to have three pet tigers and gained a lot of attention for this.

Poirier had a great first half in 2021 as he defeated the former UFC double champion, Conor McGregor, twice in six months. He leads the head-to-head battle between the two UFC stars 2-1, having lost their initial fight back in 2014.
‘The Diamond’ is not in line for another title fight soon, but the UFC might book him for a different fight later this year. However, he recently got an offer about a fight from another UFC fighter looking to bounce back from a loss.

Gilbert Burns responded to Poirier’s desperate tweet calling for a fight. ‘Durinho’, however, put forth a condition. He quote tweeted Poirier’s tweet with a short numeric message, asking the American fighter to move up to 170 pounds.

There are also speculations about a Nate Diaz-Dustin Poirier fight. Diaz is on the last fight of his contract and he might be the perfect opponent for Poirier. Fans are also speculating a fourth fight between ‘The Diamond’ and Conor McGregor upon the latter’s comeback to the UFC.
