The combat sports world witnessed another bizarre and unexpected beef as boxing star Tyson Fury went after UFC champion Jon Jones on social media. The WBC heavyweight champion took issue with some comments made by UFC commentator Joe Rogan. On an episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, the 55-year-old gave Jones the edge over Fury if the two ever fought each other in a locked room.

‘The Gypsy King’ sent a profanity-loaded message to Rogan as a response. This struck a nerve with Jones, who sent another response to Fury, and the situation escalated rather quickly. It was not long before fans took over the debate and picked their sides. The consensus was that Fury would beat Jones in a ring. But outside the squared circle, the majority gave Jones the edge.

Later, Fury released a second statement clarifying his previous one. Now, Jones has responded with a message of his own, sliding in a jibe at the Englishman.

The Jon Jones-Tyson Fury beef continues

In a recent Instagram story, Tyson Fury took another shot at Jon Jones. He said, “You see, Jon Jones has piped up. Jon, you’re talking about me in a cage. I am not a cage fighter, mate. I am a boxer, the best boxer, actually. So if you wanna come into a boxing ring and fight me, be my guest…”

Now, Jones has sent another sarcastic reply to Fury. In a video shared to his IG story, ‘Bones’ mocked the pugilist with a sarcastic comeback. But even that wasn’t enough. He decided to continue insulting Fury on a different social media platform.

Jones further addressed Fury’s comments via a tweet as well. He took a shot at Jones for the way he clarified his previous statement. The UFC heavyweight champion wrote, “Yesterday, Tyson says, “no man born from a mother can beat me”, today he says “Jon can never beat me in a boxing ring”. … switched your beat up faster than Travis Barker, impressive.”

Unsurprisingly, neither heavyweights are willing to concede an inch in this stand-off between the two top dogs of their respective sports. It seems like Joe Rogan might have unintentionally started a war between two of the biggest names in MMA and Boxing.

What are your thoughts on their comments? Who do you think is the better fighter among the two? And do you agree with Rogan?
