The Irishman, in his most recent confession, asserted that he has only two fights left on his UFC contract. “I’ve got two fights left on my contract. Negotiations are ongoing. When the promotional work of the movie comes to an end, when the St. Patrick’s Day festivities come to an end, its isolation and its focus, and move toward a return to the Octagon.”

Dana White always states that the reason for McGregor’s delay in comeback is rooted in his healthy financial status. However, recent statements by the UFC star seem to have disregarded the CEO’s claim. The Dubliner is the biggest star in the UFC and his fights bring in a large number of eyeballs to the promotion. So, it’s possible that White wants to pen him down to a new contract, which could be delaying his comeback. However, unlike other fighters, ‘The Notorious’ is not out of options. His boxing career might kick-start if MMA doesn’t work out.

‘The Notorious’ can step into boxing again

Conor McGregor ventured into boxing when he fought Floyd Mayweather back in 2017. It was McGregor’s debut in the boxing realm, and oh boy, what a debut it was! McGregor, despite being a newcomer to the boxing world showcased tremendous skill, but in the end, it was Mayweather who clinched the victory. That fight was McGregor’s first and only foray into boxing so far.

Seven years after his debut, McGregor is again talking about making a comeback to boxing with a matchup against Manny Pacquiao, ‘Mystic Mac’ has made a roadmap for his fights, and that includes a matchup against the former 8-division champion. Interestingly, ‘Pac-Man’ is also considering coming out of retirement to fight.

The timing is just perfect for both of them to clash, but it seems like McGregor is waiting for the UFC’s announcement. Nonetheless, apart from fighting, McGregor has also ventured into another lucrative field of entertainment: acting. His debut in Hollywood might open new gates for him. Let’s understand what McGregor’s thoughts are on this.

McGregor’s thoughts on acting in Hollywood movies

Conor McGregor’s debut film, ‘Road House’ is about to hit the screens on March 21. McGregor plays the antagonist role in the movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal. According to McGregor, he got paid the highest amount for an acting debutant in Hollywood so far. However, despite feeling he gave a good performance, McGregor is not sure about his acting. As far as acting is concerned,’ Mystic Mac’ is not opposed to it but it seems like he needs some time.

“Right now, not at this time. I’m going to regroup after all this work. I’ll leave it to the professionals. It’s hard work. It was very hard work. After [my fight], maybe next year or something, I do not know — I will not say never because I had such a great time, and I met some friends for life here, and I enjoyed the process. Even Amazon has been absolutely amazing to work with. Who knows what the future holds for sure in this industry?”
