Diego Sanchez is famed for being one of the aggressive fighters in the UFC Octagon. He entered the UFC Hall of Fame back in 2019 and sent an uproar through the crowd. However, his performance in the arena of bare-knuckle boxing didn’t secure him a victory. Recently, Sanchez fought Austin Trout at BKFC: Knucklemania 3. After getting defeated by the former WBA super-welterweight champion, the ‘Nightmare’ made accusations that his opponent was in fact cheating. He accused Trout of putting too much Vaseline.

Trout debuted in BKFC on Friday against Sanchez. Surprisingly, he dominated the arena with superior footwork and agility. The former WBA champion secured a dominating win over the UFC veteran. The fight had to be stopped by the doctors since Sanchez was completely bloodied during the fight. However, ‘Dream’ was unable to take the loss well enough and began defending himself.

Without a doubt, the issue was addressed during Trout’s appearance on TMZ Sports. Trout believed that Sanchez was a sore loser. Furthermore, he reasoned that every other combat sports promotion allows the fighters to put on Vaseline. It wasn’t illegal or cheating in any way. ‘No Doubt’ then sent a message to his opponent.

Trout said, “I respect what he has done, but I don’t respect how he’s taking this. This is definitely, you know, this is not respectable actions, my man. Take that loss as a man. And then you know, he blocked me right away, so some people are sending me what he’s saying and he’s basically saying that I ruined his game plan of the clinching and punching with the Vaseline.”

Diego Sanchez’s defense after losing

A loss could easily agitate a fighter who has seen multiple victories in his career. However, as a video of Trout’s corner applying Vaseline on him found its way on the internet, accusations of cheating began to rise. Sanchez posted the video on Instagram.

I pray in Jesus name that I will get justice for this blatant cheating caught on camera”, the fighter wrote in the caption. However, the ‘Nightmare’ had to quickly take it off after receiving severe backlash from the fans.
