Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s rivalry in the UFC was one of a kind. Their shared animosity led to an explosive fight at UFC 229. While the Russian won the bout via submission, the fight did little to diminish their dislike for each other.
In 2017, McGregor also boxed against an undefeated boxer, Floyd Mayweather. It was one of the biggest crossovers in the history of MMA and boxing. However, Nurmagomedov took digs at both McGregor and Mayweather.

Michael Benson, an editor at ‘Talk Sport’, recently shared Nurmagomedov’s clip calling out the boxer. He said, “50-0 versus 27-0. Two guys never, never like lose. Let’s go, why not? Because in the jungle, only one King. … of course, I’m the King. Because he cannot drop Conor McGregor. I drop him easily.”
In the video, ‘The Eagle‘ was with Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of ‘Mayweather Promotions’.
Additionally, fans had a lot to say in the comment section. While some believed Mayweather would emerge as the better athlete, some thought Nurmagomedov could win against the boxer.
Besides that, it would have been interesting to watch Nurmagomedov in a boxing match. After all, his strength is his wrestling and ground game. Watching the Dagestani box would have been a novel experience.
