When Alvarez had to wait for a UFC PPV to end
Back in 2019, UFC held the first-ever BMF title fight at UFC 244 in MSG, New York. MMA icons Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz went to battle in the cage in a star-studded affair. They even brought out Dwayne Johnson to put the belt around the winner’s waist.
In an interesting turn of events, DAZN decided to postpone Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergey Kovalev to avoid an overlap with the UFC PPV. Reportedly, the decision did not sit well with the boxing champion, who had to wait for almost an hour for the UFC PPV to end.
Four years later, Canelo Alvarez has crossed paths with the UFC again. Do you think this will cause bad blood between the boxer and the MMA promotion?
