UFC star Conor McGregor is a big name in the MMA business. However, his interest in sports goes beyond martial arts. He is an avid follower of many other sports, too.

In fact, he was planning on buying a soccer team. Similarly, McGregor is also a follower of Formula 1. Hence, he traveled with his fiancee and children to Monaco for an event.

The fighter posted pictures on Instagram and wrote, “Pulling into Monaco for the @f1 Grand Prix! A dream come true for me”.

McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, was one of the people to hype up the fighter in the comments section. In fact, he even made a claim which may not be true. While engaging with McGregor’s fans in the comments, Kavanagh said, “He’s won all the titles and is the richest prize fighter in the history of combat sports. He’s done alright”.

However, the coach’s ‘richest prize fighter’ claim may not be accurate. After all, boxers like Floyd Mayweather, Tyson Fury, and several others exist.

Mayweather’s match against Manny Pacquiao was the richest fight in the history of boxing. ‘Money’ earned roughly $250 million from the fight. The McGregor fight was his second-highest payday.

‘The Notorious’ who was guaranteed $30 million for the Mayweather bout, walked away with a whopping $85 million according to ‘Forbes‘. Thus, the boxer has surely seen higher pay than McGregor.

In addition to this, Mayweather’s net worth surpasses that of Conor McGregor by a big margin. As a result, coach Kavanagh’s recent claims about McGregor’s wealth might not be true.

While the Irish athlete might not be the richest combat sports athlete, he is the richest UFC fighter. As reported by ‘Celebrity Net Worth‘, Conor McGregor has a total net worth of $200 million.
