The ‘Battle of the Baddest’ is done for and Francis Ngannou has made a tremendous entry in the world of boxing. Ngannou’s debut against Tyson Fury was not expected to go down in his favor, however, his masterclass proved otherwise. ‘The Predator’ even took the match to decision and was close to tasting victory but the judges gave the win to ‘Gypsy King’

Fans call out Dana White for not witnessing Francis Ngannou’s boxing debut

Dana White released Francis Ngannou because he wanted to participate in boxing events outside of UFC. White believed that Ngannou’s request was a breach of contract. Ngannou’s response left the UFC altogether citing stringent contractual as well as freedom issues. Ngannou joined the PFL after that which gave him more freedom.

In his most recent escapade, Dana White was inquired whether he had witnessed the Fury vs. Ngannou match on ‘Triggered’. White stated that he did not watch the event. He said ” I didn’t see the fight but the fact that [Ngannou] went to rounds with [fury] is unbelievable”

Based on the reactions of the fans it can be understood that they are not amused by White’s complete ignorance about the match. They call out the CEO for not watching the match. They even add that white must have watched it but is not acknowledging it. However, from a business point of view is White’s decision wrong? Chael Sonnen would beg to differ.

Chael Sonnen has provided insights into why Dana White permitted Conor McGregor to step into a boxing ring against Floyd Mayweather but didn’t extend the same opportunity to Francis Ngannou. Sonnen also underscores the wisdom in Dana White’s decision as the head of the UFC.

Sonnen in his YouTube stated  “Use the one other example we had of Conor McGregor versus Floyd. That fight doesn’t work if Floyd isn’t 49 and 0 and going for 50, which was a big goal that he had established to the market years before.“It doesn’t work if Conor McGregor is not a simultaneous two-division UFC champion. It’s a very different scenario. They don’t get them together if those boys go try to find each other today. It won’t work, right? The timing matters.”
