Dana White’s words come to bite him with Francis Ngannou’s bout

When Francis Ngannou fought Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua went out there to slyly call it a “gimmick fight”. Dana White caught the wind of his comments and added them to his own. Now, Joshua will fight Ngannou himself and so, what the UFC boss said with so much confidence starts to crumble apart.

“Anthony Joshua called it a gimmick fight this week,” said White. “When asked about that fight, he is like I am focused on fighting the best guys in the world. You know, I am not interested in a gimmick fight right now. That is one of the big problems with boxing right now, its all about these gimmicky type fights. And that is just not what I do here, MMA guys vs boxers does not make any sense to me.”

Now, Ngannou has come out and told the world that setting up his fight against Anthony Joshua was in fact, easier than setting up the Fury fight. This is because the PFL was new to Ngannou and the contractual details had to be ironed out. But the same wasn’t true for the upcoming bout.

Ngannou called it “the easiest deal” and said: “You know the Tyson one. . . Like nobody really knows, okay what’s gonna happen. You have to try to negotiate about everything. . . So this time around, didn’t even have to. . . a lot of things were smooth and moving up like this.”

When is the upcoming Francis Ngannou bout?

A ten round boxing match was confirmed between the pair in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. The fight could go down on March the 8th, however, that confirmation is yet to come in. The fight would be a great promotional event even though Joshua might want to go for the upcoming vacant IBF title.
