Dana White’s UFC 302 embarrassed Shakur Stevenson’s boxing match

Shakur Stevenson will be clashing against Artem Harutyunyan at the Prudential Centre to defend his WBC title. Well, you would have thought that Stevenson would have sold the entire stadium considering the fact that it’s his hometown, right? However, the reality is a bit different than what you might think. His boxing title defense saw a gate of over $1 million dollars which fell dubiously short in comparison with UFC.

Dana White’s UFC 302 which happened just a month ago featuring Dustin Poirier and Islam Makhachev broke all the records. The entire gate of the event boasted $7,255,040 in revenue. In comparison, the amount is six times higher than Stevenson’s boxing event. UFC 302 became the highest-grossing event to have ever happened at the Prudential Center.

Stevenson’s WBC title defense saw an audience of 8,412, while UFC 302 had an attendance of 17,834. Dana White’s UFC events have consistently outperformed Shakur Stevenson’s bouts in terms of audience numbers.
