Darren Till Compares Joe Joyce’s Personality to a Loaf of Bread

UFC middleweight Darren Till took to social media and went after British boxer Joe Joyce for being uninteresting. ‘The Gorilla’ isn’t one to shy away from sharing his views on fellow combat sports athletes, and it seems like Joyce is next.

Darren Till is one of the most notorious MMA fighters in terms of social media engagement. Till has managed to use social media as an effective tool to ensure that fans took an interest in every move he makes. Not to mention, he’s a dangerous player in the middleweight division as it stands. There’s no doubt that his antics on social media have managed to make him a household name.

Darren Till certainly doesn’t look at Joe Joyce as being a worthy candidate to take over the pole position in heavyweight boxing. ‘The Gorilla’ equated Joyce’s reserved personality to that of a loaf of bread. Although Till’s comments are often in jest, it touched a vein of criticism that Joyce has faced before.

Some fans and pundits have commented on his reserved personality and mentioned that it might prevent his rise in the sport. The consensus is that a fighter must be outspoken and engaging in order to reach the upper echelon. However, it’s hard to ignore ‘Juggernaut’ Joyce given his performances under the bright lights.

Joe Joyce comes in off a massive win on November 28, 2020, when he dethroned the hype train of Daniel Dubois. ‘Dynamite’ Dubois was finished in the tenth round after his eye began swelling up beyond control. Chiefly, Joyce took home all the hardware including the British, Commonwealth, WBC Silver, WBO international, and vacant European heavyweight titles.

Dubois came in as the next big thing in the division to take over the reins from legends. However, ‘Juggernaut’ put forward his fight-ending power that many believed would be the X-factor. Furthermore, he was able to exploit the overzealousness that Dubois has showcased in the past.

If Joe Joyce continues demolishing top prospects in the heavyweight division, there’s no denying he’ll climb the ladder. Fans will be looking to see whether his somewhat conservative approach to fight promotion will be a huge hindrance.
