Conor McGregor’s massive gamble on Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal

‘The Notorious’ has locked horns with Nate Diaz twice in his career and has a record of 1-1. Diaz is one of the few fighters who gets high-end respect from Conor McGregor. The former dual-weight champion has wagered a massive $500,000 on the Stockton native. Nate Diaz has an underdog status on DraftKings(Currently at +210). Despite the underdog status, Mcgregor believes that his former rival has what it takes to defeat the Cuban.

He took to X and wrote, “I’ve decided to put $500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match. Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever.” McGregor was defeated by Diaz when they initially faced each other on UFC 196. Well, considering the rivalry, ‘Notorious’ believes that Diaz’s striking skills are much better than Jorge Masvidal’s.

He further added, “They are both little play-around dipshits in a fight, play-around bollox, but I feel Nate does him in EASY here for real. $500k gets me back $1,625,000 all in.”  Well, despite having a bit of respect for Diaz, McGregor was unfiltered in his approach as he had no kind words for either of the fighters.

Diaz blames Dana White for failed Jorge Masvidal rematch in MMA

Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal were released by the promotion last year, however, the truth is that they both have their contract with the UFC but the promotion has allowed them to clash outside of it. Masvidal has already confessed that he will clash in Boxing thrice before returning to the UFC. Regardless, Diaz in a conversation with ESPN has blamed the promotion for their failed MMA rematch.

“I had a lot of convincing. I was like, why don’t we fight an MMA? Oh, he can’t fight MMA; he is not allowed. So I was like, well, as long as we get to go out there and settle some is the biggest deal outside the UFC for me. Because none of the boxers wants to box. Then UFC wants to lock me down forever. So it was the biggest fight. The biggest thing I can do at the moment,” said Nate Diaz.
