There are very rare occasions when things are cool between two professional combat sports athletes. Aljamain Sterling’s recently resurfaced interview video just goes on to prove this fact. This weekend, Sterling will defend his title at UFC 292 against Sean O’Malley.
The champ is ready for this challenge, and fans are expecting a carnival of action and violence. Amidst the hype, an old clip of Sterling talking about the boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has gone viral. In the video, ‘Funk Master’ talks about how Mayweather once made some cheeky attempts to steal his girlfriend!

An attempt to steal Aljamain Sterling’s girlfriend!
The UFC champ revealed that ‘Money’ dispatched his representatives to invite them to a party, initially sending a man and later a woman to extend the invitation. “He sent over his minions to try to pick her up. This is back in 2016, and I was still undefeated at that time. So he sent over a girl… no he sent over a guy first. Told us we can both come down (to his party),” he said.

Suspicious of their intentions, the UFC champ declined, asserting that he wouldn’t be manipulated or undermined. “I am like ‘man I ain’t stupid like that’.If I come over there, you guys are gonna try to take her up and try to push me back. And I am going to feel some type of way and then like ‘nah now I gotta create a scene’. You are not going to punk me like that,” he added.
Further, ‘Funk Master’ also drew some parallels between Mayweather’s perfect record and his MMA winning streak. He even sent a warning to the boxing legend through the associates he sent.
“You can tell Floyd he is undefeated in boxing, I am undefeated in MMA. If we wanna figure out the better sport, we could find out today,” he said.
