Francis Ngannou‘s dominating win over Renan Ferreira posed one serious question – who’s credible enough to fight him next in MMA? Well, some people desperately want to see him fight Jon Jones, who’s contracted to a rival promotion, UFC. As far as we know, Dana White is never high on a cross-promotional fight by any means. But guess what? Ngannou can always go back to boxing, and Mike Tyson’s close friend, Dewey Cooper, believes there is a proper opponent for his next venture.

During a recent conversation, Dewey Cooper, who used to train Mike Tyson and now trains Francis Ngannou, shed some light on the Cameroonian’s future. While he doubted that Tyson Fury would be up for a rematch anytime soon, there is one fighter who could help Ngannou make the trifecta. Cooper claims that this era of boxing is ending with Oleksandr Usyk, who’s on top of his game right now. However, the real three greats include Fury and Anthony Joshua, whom the former UFC champion has already fought. The last piece in the puzzle is none other than ‘The Bronze Bomber’, Deontay Wilder.

“Tyson Fury probably doesn’t want to fight Francis right now. They’re already talking about Anthony Joshua and Francis. But, you know, there were three great fighters of this era – the era’s ending now with Usyk – but you had Tyson Fury, you had Anthony Joshua, and you had Deontay Wilder,” Dewey Cooper told Francis Ngannou’s head coach, Eric Nicksick“Francis has already done unprecedented things by fighting Fury and Joshua, his first two fights. Might as well fight that third, too. I mean, it wouldn’t make sense for Francis not to fight Deontay Wilder.”

Francis Ngannou claims that he’s always wanted to fight Deontay Wilder, and guess what? He could be in luck because even the former world champion recently mentioned wanting to fight the Cameroonian-French behemoth as well. Here’s what ‘The Bronze Bomber’ had to say.

Deontay Wilder claims he’s considering taking on Francis Ngannou

‘The Bronze Bomber’ recently had an interview with TMZ and shared a heartfelt message to Francis Ngannou following the passing away of his 15-month-old son Kobe. During that interview, he also mentioned him having received some pretty good offers to fight, which also included an offer from ‘The Predator’. While confirming his interest in Ngannou, Wilder claimed that he’s willing to have a chat with the Cameroonian-French star’s team.

“Ever since I’ve been off, there’s been a lot of offers coming in, a lot of different countries, even with Francis,” said Deontay Wilder. “I can only imagine what it’s like to lose a child, man. I never hope to even feel that feeling of it. I hope life is going beautifully for you, bro. That’s a conversation I’m still looking to get in there, in the mix, and talk about.”

There you go! Francis Ngannou may not get to fight Jon Jones, but he’s more than likely to get Deontay Wilder in a boxing ring if the negotiations between those camps turn out in favor of both fighters. What do you reckon? Let us know in the comments down below.
