Francis Ngannou took on Tyson Fury in a fight that was billed as ‘The Battle of The Baddest’. Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, was making his professional boxing debut in the bout. ‘The Predator’ had left the UFC due to disputes over his contract and aspirations to chase his boxing dreams. He later signed with the PFL (Professional Fighters League) with a contract that granted him a massive payday and the freedom to pursue combat sports outside of MMA.

The fight saw Ngannou demonstrate why he was feared in the UFC as he knocked Fury down in the third round with a left hook. Despite his incredible performance, Ngannou lost the fight via a decision that has been controversial amongst the fans. Fury even threw an illegal blow at Ngannou that wasn’t addressed by the referee and judges. But now Ngannou has made a statement about the move that has caused fans to blast Tyson Fury for his antics. And the reactions indicate that the community is advising Fury to not pursue a rematch in MMA after what Ngannou has said!

Francis Ngannou was considered a heavy underdog going into his fight against Tyson Fury. Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion also holds the lineal heavyweight title in boxing. Many analysts thought Ngannou wouldn’t be able to compete against the skill and experience of Fury. However, Ngannou shocked the world when he dropped Fury to the canvas and cheekily taunted him. ‘The Predator’ seemed calm, composed, and dangerous as he stalked Fury across the ring.

The decision after 10 rounds declared Fury the winner. During the fight, Fury also seemed to throw an elbow at Ngannou’s face that was missed by the referee and the judges. In a recent post shared by Haymakers on Instagram, Ngannou was quoted as saying, “I should’ve kicked his f**king legs. I can’t believe that he elbowed me.

Ngannou explained his decision to use the unconventional move in a video on his YouTube channel. He stated, “We practiced that Superman punch in the locker room, and again, it’s not illegal. It might not be ‘legal,’ it might not be ‘approved,’ but it’s not illegal because it’s the same as throwing a hook…”

It remains to be seen if the two men decide to compete for a rematch in MMA. But with news of Tyson Fury wanting to fight Oleksandr Usyk next, fans will have to wait to see if Ngannou gets his revenge inside the cage!
