Although from entirely different generations, two names in combat sports happen to ring up the same emotions among fans. Muhammad Ali and Conor McGregor have both had very similar effects on the masses. Electrifying the crowd with their mic skills along with their fights that saw them conquer their respective sports; Despite them not ever having had the opportunity to meet each other, fans can vouch that the legendary boxer would have surely appreciated the Irishman’s approach to the game.
Talking exactly about this, Biaggio Ali Walsh, grandson to Muhammad Ali, made an intriguing disclosure to TMZ. Interestingly, Walsh is an MMA fighter himself, and knowing that he carries the genetics of Ali himself, maybe we might get to see him on the big stage in the future soon.

Speaking to TMZ about his grandfather, Walsh expressed that although Ali didn’t get the opportunity to experience MMA in its current form, he would have surely loved the entertainment that Conor McGregor brought into the game. Pointing out to the Irishman’s epic Featherweight run, Walsh believed that was something the legendary boxer would have enjoyed a lot.
“I think he would have been a big fan of MMA. Especially like at the time when Conor was in his featherweight run and Conor was, you know, doing his peak trash talk and stuff. He would have loved it, man,” he claimed.

Ali probably would have loved it, too. The boxer was one of the first personalities to bring forth the importance of trash-talking in combat sports. So there’s certainly no doubt that he would have felt a connection with the Irishman’s approach as well.
Walsh talks about his future in MMA
Talking about his 2-1 amateur career, the 24-year-old also addressed his plans during the interview. Walsh explained he was trying to stay active by having three to four fights this year itself.
” Honestly, I would like to be Pro by next year I think. If I just stay on the right track and keep winning this year, I’d like to get three or four fights this year.” He explained.

Currently signed to the PFL, Walsh also has a fight set up for April in what could be a good start for him to achieve his prior mentioned plans. A win there could set him up perfectly for the future as he tries to emulate the career that his grandfather, the great Muhammad Ali, had.
