Ciryl Gane thinks that Ngannou won’t be easily torn down

Gane appeared on the MMA Hour today to voice his opinion on a bunch of things. This is when the interviewer asked him about the upcoming Ngannou fight. ‘Bon Gamin’ himself is a monster of a heavyweight fighter who knows how things can go down once two fighters step inside a ring.

“On the paper, I’m gonna say Tyson Fury, but everybody knows the power of Francis and everything is possible,” the fighter said when Helwani asked who was his bet in the fight. The fighter wanted to show all his support to Ngannou. “I don’t know how much time in training for this fight, talking about Francis, but he can surprise the people and it was his dream . . . it was his dream to be a boxer and not and not an MMA fighter so maybe. We never know, we never know, and he’s still dangerous.”

Ngannou’s power can’t go unacknowledged. The beast of a heavyweight had an impressive record of 17-3 during his time at the UFC. However, his challenge is on a whole different level now. It’s not that he’s merely switching his entire sport, it’s that he’s going to fight a phenom of a boxer for his first fight.

‘The Gypsy King’ has an enviable record of 33-0-1 out of which 24 are absolute knockout wins. Fury is known for his resilience and his ability to strike his opponents down with those iron fists. Maybe it’s a boxing myth that as long as you have a ‘Tyson’ in your name, opponents will get hammered down. The fun part is, the one person training Ngannou is also none other than the legend himself, Mike Tyson.

The fight is scheduled for the 28th of October in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Both fighters have shown each other the respect they deserve, refraining from any trash-talking, which fans consider appropriate given the nature of the fight. It’s a big step for PFL too since the organization was willing to offer Ngannou $10 million for his fight with Fury.

Fury has previously acknowledged how he’ll have to be in great form to defeat ‘The Predator’ even if the latter has no real boxing experience. Fans believed Fury was just being humble, but that may not be the case. It’s never ideal to underestimate an opponent. Especially if they’re the likes of Ngannou, who could flatten the opponent with one good blast to the face. Either way, it looks like the wait will be long, but the fight will be worth it.
