Mike Tyson is all set to take on Jake Paul in a blockbuster clash. However, it appears that the hype for the match has taken a toll after Tyson’s age came to the forefront. And that doesn’t come as a surprise. Tyson is an undeniable legend in the world of combat sports, not just boxing. But he’s a legend who is now, arguably far past his prime.

Jake Paul is 27-years-old while Mike Tyson will soon turn 58. Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen went on to call him a “geriatric” in a recent video and now, UFC welterweight mainstay Colby Covington has expressed concern about the boxer’s health.

The announcement of the boxing bout took the world by shock. While some fans expressed excitement at seeing their favorite boxer back at it, many others did not share the same enthusiasm. After all, Tyson is at an age where many fighters have already retired at least ten years in advance.

Colby Covington recently had a conversation with Adam Sos on his podcast where he gave his take. “I don’t like it at all. Mike still looks like a superhuman for 58 but he’s still 58 years old and you know he shouldn’t be fighting anymore.” he said.

“I don’t think it’s safe, I think it’s dangerous at that age, your heart might explode you know. He gets hit in the head is, he might have a brain bleed, I mean the guy, I-that’s what I hope for I hope for that Mike Tyson makes it through injury-free and doesn’t get hurt.,” he added.

Famous for trash-talking many fighters in the UFC, it’s interesting to see ‘Chaos’ genuinely worry about a fighter but then, why wouldn’t he? Tyson is a legend and Chael Sonnen had to point out how the bout is a “double lose” situation for Jake Paul.

Jake Paul is taking on Mike Tyson, a fan favorite and 57-year-old. This puts him in an interesting situation where defeating Tyson won’t bring him any good and nor would losing to him. Why? According to Chael Sonnen, if Paul loses, he would be ridiculed for losing to a much older fighter.

However, if he does end up winning against Mike Tyson, he would receive much flak from the people for defeating an older fighter who is much loved by everyone. In fact, Paul is already receiving hate for the fight to begin with. In this way, perhaps the only prize the prizefighter will win for certain is the further disapproval of many fans.
