The coveted feud involving Jon Jones, Dana White, and Tyson Fury started with the famed UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, picking Jones as his choice to get the better of Fury in a no-rules type of confrontation. Following that, there have been multiple iterations about this issue from all three persons involved. Also, both Fury and Jones claimed that they could defeat each other if they lock horns in their usual discipline of combat sport.

On the other hand, UFC boss, Dana White, had also expressed his eagerness to work out a Fury vs Jones bout inside the octagon. But, after ‘The Gyspy King’ disclosed his distaste towards stepping into the cage, White is probably trying to lure Fury into the octagon now. The current WBC Heavyweight champ recently revealed that he had an offer for a “hybrid bout” from the UFC. The news excited the fans, but most of them knew where this entire thing would eventually go.

Most fans expressed negative reactions to this revelation by Tyson Fury

Recently, ‘The Gypsy King’ took to a live Twitter Space and made a number of revelations about the offers he had for his next bout. After revealing a few other ones, Fury said, There’s talks of me and Jon Jones doing a hybrid fight as we speak right now. I received an offer from the UFC yesterday.”

However, the fans weren’t ready to take Fury’s so-called ambiguous words about the UFC’s “hybrid fight” offer. Although most of them believed that Fury actually had an offer from the UFC, they also opined that he won’t be accepting that fight against Jones.

A few reactions that appeared on the Instagram post of MMA Fighting related to this issue read:

  • I feel like Dana and Jon are just trying to make Francis not get a boxing match
  • Not a chance this happens. If it does it best be boxing in round 1. As soon as Jones can use his full set it’s a wrap. I’m not even a Jones guy. I am however a realistic person.
  • Wont happen
  • Of all the things that won’t happen this is the most won’t happenist
  • This sounds familiar 🤣 fury isn’t doing any kind of hybrid fight with anyone.
  • UFC trynna be oNe now i guess
  • He wouldn’t dare sign that piece of paper.
  • 5% chance this ever happens

However, it’s a bit unnatural to find so many fans presenting similar opinions in this regard.

Why were the fans confident about Tyson Fury’s denial of the UFC offer?

It was probably Fury’s past iterations that formed this narrative within the fans. A few months back, the noted former UFC Heavyweight king, Francis Ngannou, stepped into the boxing ring after Fury claimed a victory over one of his opponents.

The two also had a stare-down, following which Fury revealed that they might face off in a mixed-rules bout soon. It was also proposed that the legendary, Mike Tyson, would be the referee for the fight. But even after building up all the hype related to the bout, the fans are yet to witness the story develop.

This might have compelled them to believe that such iterations from Fury don’t really get materialized. It’s apparent that they presented the same notion when the current WBC Heavyweight king recently revealed the “hybrid bout” offer from the UFC.
