Dillon Danis and his boxing match against Logan Paul turned out to be nothing like the fans imagined. The pre-fight buildup had both men stating that they would be looking to knock each other out. However, the fight was a strange affair that involved Danis barely throwing any punches at Paul. The fight got progressively stranger as Danis attempted a takedown and even a guillotine choke at the end of the fight. This led to security storming the ring, while Danis attempted to chase Logan Paul. He was declared disqualified due to his actions and the victory was awarded to Paul.

After the fight, Danis has been vocal on social media about his performance. He has even threatened to appeal the loss. Danis, an MMA fighter, is known for his jiu-jitsu skills and being a training partner of Conor McGregor. And Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, recently made his feelings known about the fight. He revealed his honest take on Danis’s performance and stated what goals he thinks Danis should focus on.

Dillon Danis should return to MMA according to Conor McGregor’s coach

Dillon Danis stepped up to face Logan Paul after being sidelined from combat sports since 2019. He was making his boxing debut in the match. The bout between the two was marked by an intense feud between them in the lead up to the fight. Danis levelled accusations of steroid use against Logan Paul, while Paul showed up to a pre-fight conference with BJJ phenom, Gordon Ryan, as his “bodyguard”!

Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh also spoke about the fight in an interview with MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn. When questioned about Danis and his future after the fight and if Kavanagh would like to see him box or return to MMA, he gave his honest opinion on the issue.

Kavanagh believes Danis is “…exceptional when you see him in the gym”, but has faced injury setbacks. He also hopes Dillon used the money he earned from boxing for his child’s future and encourages him to get back to MMA training and showcase his skills in the cage.

He stated, “I’d love to see him come to Dublin again and just throw himself into training for mixed martial arts. He’s an MMA fighter, he’s not a boxer.“

Despite the bizarre ending to the fight, the Misfits PPV card featuring Danis and Paul has sold over a million PPV buys. The numbers highlight the popularity of influencer boxing events amongst fans. Danis however, has been vocal on social media following his loss. And he has also stated that he doesn’t agree with the decision!

Danis thinks Logan Paul should have lost the fight

Danis has returned to his social media antics after the fight. The MMA fighter was active on social media immediately after the loss and even said he was going to join the UFC next. Danis also stated that he will be appealing the DQ loss as he feels Logan Paul should be the one who got disqualified!

These comments follow the sharing of a video on Twitter/X, showing a member of Paul’s security team entering the ring when Danis attempted a failed takedown during the fight. The video was commented on by Danis, who stated, “There was multiple offenses I’ll be submitting my appeal to the commission today.

It remains unclear what multiple offenses Danis could be referring to. And if he really will be moving to the UFC next. Danis has stated previously that he still has fights left in his Bellator contract. And with the fight against Logan Paul gaining him even more notoriety, fans will be looking forward to what Dillon Danis comes up with next.
