How a “Tax Lady” Predicted a Bankrupt Mike Tyson’s Boxing Return Against Roy Jones Jr Despite His Constant Rebuttal

Mike Tyson, in his prime, was arguably one of the scariest boxers to ever step into the ring. The American has achieved the impossible in the ring and cemented his legacy in the sport. Recently, he revealed how a lady from the IRS predicted his return to the ring.
Tyson sat alongside UFC color commentator Joe Rogan in an episode of “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,” in which the two discussed diverse topics. In one segment, Tyson narrated a story in which a lady from the IRS predicted he would fight in a boxing match again.

He said, “The tax lady was always calling me saying, ‘Mr. Tyson, I’m sure you’ve got something to do. I know you’re going to fight again, so why don’t we just have this fight and pay your bills, and everything will be fine.'”
He continued, “This is the IRS, and I’m like, ‘What? are you serious?’ She said, ‘just fight. We know you’re going to fight again. This is the lady from the IRS talking to me like this.” Tyson then mentioned that he told the lady that he wouldn’t fight.
Tyson then explained why he found the entire situation “crazy.” He added, “This lady died eventually, and I did fight. Isn’t that crazy? She was right. I never in a million years thought about fighting again. She must’ve knew it.”

Tyson returned to the ring for an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. in late 2020. This legendary bout took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and was scheduled for eight rounds.

The two fighters gave it their all in the ring, with the bout ending in a split draw. Tyson and Jones Jr proved to the world that age is just a number and it shouldn’t be used as an excuse.
