“I Ain’t Throwing That One Punch” – Jon Jones Promises Special Training for Gervonta Davis Before Ryan Garcia Fight

Jon Jones, arguably one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, is making his return to the octagon after a three-year absence. ‘Bones’ will be facing Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title shot at UFC 285. Fans have been eagerly waiting for Jones‘ return, and his presence in the UFC has been sorely missed. The promotion has been releasing a vlog series, which follows the fighters leading up to the event. Episode 4 of the UFC 285 Embedded vlog series featured the former light heavyweight champ, showcasing everything from his training to his meetings with other athletes.

The vlog provides fans with a behind-the-scenes look at Jones‘ preparation for his upcoming fight.

Jon Jones training with Gervonta Davis

In the vlog, Jones meets the famous boxer Gervonta Davis, who is training with ‘Bones’ ahead of his UFC 285 fight. The 35-year-old had some kind words for Davis, displaying his admiration for ‘Tank’s talent and skills. “You’re killing it, you are hurting folks out there”, said Jones, referring to Davis’ recent performances.

The 28-year-old and Jones shared some light and funny moments on camera. One was when ‘Bones’ joked about not throwing a punch toward Davis during training because of the latter’s powerful counterpunches. “I’ll kick in front of you, (but) I ain’t throwing that one punch in front of you”, Jones said.

Davis is facing Ryan Garcia in April, and this training session can be helpful for the ‘Tank’ as well.

Jones also met American football tight end David Njoku, who is also training with them. The former light heavyweight champ looked extremely positive and energetic, heading into the training session.

Facing Ciryl Gane, who is one of the best heavyweights in UFC, Jones needs to do something different in his training. Training with Gervonta Davis and David Njoku can very well be a part of ‘Bones’ plan to do something different.

Jon Jones’s comeback to the UFC

Jon Jones is facing UFC heavyweight Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight title. The event takes place at UFC 285 on March 5th. Jones’s return to the octagon has generated a lot of excitement among fans, and his training footage in the vlog only adds to the anticipation.
