As a martial arts enthusiast, Rogan recounting his past martial arts experience said, “I was a Massachusetts state champion, and I won a thing called the American open I came in the second in the U.S cup against a guy who fought in the Olympics and I’ve competed in a lot of taekwondo tournaments but then I started kickboxing and I realized how easy it was for me to get fu***d up ”
“Because taekwondo you only kick, you only punch to the body and so my ability to block punches to my face I was grossly overestimating, so I started sparring with kickboxers just getting lit so then I started really concentrating on boxing and kickboxing and I was still competing in taekwondo I was like I got to stop doing this cause I don’t want to do this anymore and I wanted to start doing stand up and I knew I was in the middle doing both of them ”
Only after trying out kickboxing did he understand his dazzling taekwondo roundhouse kicks wouldn’t work in a full-contact fight. Taekwondo is more of a point sport with full safety gear, whereas kickboxing is pure hurt business.
We all know what happened after he tried his hand at standup comedy. Rogan is regarded as the most entertaining combat sports commentator. His impact on the UFC is immeasurable, and his rise to millionaire rank through his ever-expanding podcasts is astounding.
Rogan has more than one job a day and is a very busy person. It’s really unpredictable how he maintains his athletic physique with such a busy schedule.
How Joe Rogan keeps himself fit?
The 54-year-old podcaster carries a much younger look for his age. Being a veteran martial artist, he sticks to his training routines. Rogan is much smarter and more calculative in his training.
Joe Rogan’s training is a combination of combat sports fitness and weightlifting, and he takes a descriptive approach to it. As a taekwondo black belt, he prioritizes stretching as his major aim. His fondness for kicks remains fascinating.
