The 54-year-old Rogan, before making it big in the UFC, worked at a few different jobs. One of which was hosting the famous American TV show Fear Factor. On the show, contestants were told to perform some daredevil stunts.

Some of the stunts were so gruesome that they would send chills down the spine of a normal human being. Hence, it wasn’t easy for the host to stand and watch contestants perform those stunts. However, Rogan got through it by doing one thing.

In the recent episode of the ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson‘ podcast, Rogan explained how he landed the job as a host at Fear Factor. On being asked if he helped the contestant with the gruesome stunts, Rogan said, 98% of the time during the show I was high as f**k.”

“That’s how I got through it. I would take pot lollipops with me to work. And I just sucked on the lollipop until it felt just right. Then I could enjoy the show.” Rogan added.

“It was such a weird job. Because when I signed up to do it, I really thought it was going to be canceled. I was like, how are they gonna sit dogs on people? How are they gonna make people eat eyeballs and sh*t? This is gonna go off the air.” Rogan concluded.

Joe Rogan himself performed the daredevil stunts at Fear Factor

Joe Rogan was surely one of the best hosts of Fear Factor. Not only did he motivate the contestants to perform the stunts, but he also did the stunts himself sometimes.

During one episode of Fear Factor, Rogan asked one contestant to eat live worms to win the task. At first, the contestant was very hesitant to perform the task. However, Rogan promised her he would eat a live cockroach if she completes the task.

Subsequently, the contestant performed the task. Later, the UFC commentator kept his promise. He picked up an alive cockroach and showed it to all the contestants. Rogan then fearlessly put the roach in his mouth, chewed, and gulped it down like it was a candy bar.
