“I’d Be Open to Do…”: Former Opponent Jorge Masvidal Provides a Huge Update on His Rematch Against Nate Diaz

The UFC has amassed an incredible following. Fans tune in religiously almost, to view their favorite fighters put on display, their honed abilities, and fighting prowess. But barring the fight itself, rivalries add another level of intrigue to fans. The feuds that build between fighters add to the entertainment value of the sport itself. As fans tune in to watch more of these relations develop, Jorge Masvidal was asked about his former rival Nate Diaz.

On an episode of ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’, Masvidal engaged in a conversation about Jake Paul’s boxing. The conversation, led by ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’, soon turned to Jake’s last opponent, Nate Diaz. In the course of this discourse, Masvidal talked about boxing. Additionally, he addressed a question about entering the ring once again.

Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal again?

‘Iron’ Mike Tyson’s co-host questioned Masvidal about the possible feud. In a conversation with the ex-UFC Welterweight about boxing, a question was posed: “Nate Diaz is a free agent now. Would you bring him over?” Masvidal candidly replied, giving his honest opinion about the question. He said, “Nah. I don’t think I’d bring Nate over to like boxing or something, you know. Cause he’s always wanted a rematch.

However, this doesn’t mean that Masvidal is uninterested in boxing. Soon after he continued to explain. He said, “I’d be open to do some boxing.” ‘Gamebred’ also delved into a brief account of his past with the sports. He said, “This is, my first love ever was boxing, that I discovered. And then MMA came like four or five years later.

Taking into account his past with boxing, and Nate’s performance against Jake Paul, the Diaz-Masvidal matchup would maybe have made for an interesting chapter in their history.

Jorge Masvidal speaks on Jake Paul

Prior to this, Masvidal was asked about his opinion on Jake Paul, the YouTuber turned boxer. He approached this topic in two ways. Masvidal addressed Jake Paul as a transitioned sportsperson and as an actual boxer. He hinted that he had normal ties with Paul and that he had met him before. He reiterated what Paul had told him about the discipline that combat sports had brought him in his life. ‘Gamebred’ also remarked that he resonated with this facet of Paul’s journey.

However, as a boxer, Masvidal feels like Paul has a longer way to travel before he can truly gain Masvidal’s approval. The conversation brought up some interdisciplinary perspectives on these different combat sports. Jake Paul from the looks of it, is only getting started.

Meanwhile, as a free agent, we will have to wait and see what’s in store for Nate Diaz. Fans might be hoping for another round of the Nae Diaz-Jorge Masvidal match. But for now, the odds seem unlikely.
