Deontay Wilder has hands of steel and he might just want to use them elsewhere. However, is he ready for the barrage of wrestling moves, kicks, and takedowns that might come his way if he joins the UFC? The boxer is now convinced that he can do both and do it great.

How can he have such great confidence in himself? Perhaps the supportive words of a boxing giant’s family could help. In an Instagram post, a surprising name came up to Wilder’s aid to encourage him. Here’s everything that was said by Wilder and this unexpected personality.

Deontay Wilder receives praise from Nico Ali Walsh

Wilder is one of the most frightening boxers in the ring. Now, he could take a shot at going into the UFC. While fighters from the cage have ventured outside and into the ring, the opposite has almost never been true. Now, Wilder has a chance to change it.

“I’m thinking of doing both, UFC and Boxing. I’ll be a dangerous man in the UFC with 4oz gloves.” he said in a recent conversation. Wilder’s words went viral on Instagram and immediately attracted the attention of Nico Ali Walsh, Muhammad Ali’s grandson. Walsh commented, “It should be illegal for Wilder to punch in those 4oz gloves”.

Walsh himself is an accomplished boxer. The fighter debuted in the year 2021 and when he came to his first pro match, he was wearing his grandfather’s boxing shorts. A legacy passed down to trustworthy hands as certainly as possible.

The boxer has a record of eight wins and one loss with one no-contest to his name. Clearly, something in the ‘Ali’ DNA has him hyped up and his respect for Wilder just shows it all. The two have never crossed paths inside the ring and it looks like Wilder may just fight a UFC fighter before that ever happens. Here’s why.

Speculations about a Wilder vs. Diaz bout are making rounds!

Recently, Wilder was caught for a quick street interview as he was seen leaving a venue. He answered a few quick questions about fighting in the UFC and also going up against one of the greatest fighters of the promotion, Nate Diaz. He said he’d love to fight Diaz and asked him to call him up.

Diaz would soon take notice of the situation and ask the promotion to write up a contract ASAP. If both of them are willing to go at it, there’s no harm or foul. Perhaps Wilder will be the first boxer in recent times to make his transition to MMA instead of the other way around.
