“It Was All Really Really Hard” – Days After Zendaya’s Co-star Angus Cloud’s Tragic Demise, Jake Paul’s Prodigy Makes Emotional Confession at Nate Diaz’s Open Workout

Javon Walton – better known as ‘Ashtray,’ for his iconic role in the blockbuster HBO series “Euphoria” is still barely coping with the tragic passing of his co-star Angus Cloud. Well-known for his stint as ‘Fezco,’ the 25-year-old American actor passed away on 31st July 2023. 

Ashtray and Fezco were almost inseparable throughout all the episodes of “Euphoria.” Cloud and Walton shared a special bond, which was quite visible in their on-screen personas. Recently, while talking to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, the 17-year-old took the chance to extend yet another tribute to his fellow star. Moreover, he also reveals an intriguing story behind how he ventured into acting – despite being a prodigious boxer.

Walton and Helwani sat down at the MMA Hour’s live coverage of Nate Diaz and Jake Paul’s open workout session in Dallas. After the formal introductions, the MMA Hour host publicly shared his condolences for the passing away of Angus Cloud. 

The boxing prodigy shared a heartfelt note about the tragic incident. “It was all really hard for us – we all had such a deep connection with him[Angus],” an emotional Walton added.

Furthermore, he passionately advocated, “He[Angus] was just like the nicest guy ever! So – to see him go – that hurt!” 

Ironically enough, both American actors joined the acting industry under similar circumstances. While Zendaya’s ‘Euphoria’ co-star Cloud, was approached by a casting director for the role when he was walking down the street, Walton was introduced to acting when he starred on a famous TV show. At the show, a casting director approached the 17-year-old boxing star for a role, and the rest is history.

On a different note, it seems like Javon Walton is playing all his cards right. Talking about the same, Helwani points to the Euphoria star’s roster of accolades at the mere age of 17. He showered praises on Walton, adding, “Wow – what a couple of weeks for you, my friend. You just signed with the Most Valuable Promotions…” – Yes, that’s right, Walton has joined Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul’s boxing promotion venture.

He went on, further continuing, “You’re the youngest athlete signed by the Jordan[Air Jordan] brand… You’re a massive actor…you’re a rising star in the world of boxing.”

But then Helwani raised the million-dollar question – how did it all unfold? Replying to the journalist’s question, Walton revealed his only focus – boxing. Shedding light on how the boxer turned to acting, for a brief stint, he told a revealing story. “I’ve been boxing for 13 years of my life – and that’s what I love. That’s what I do and you know, this acting stuff came from boxing‌” – Walton declared. But how did he get the role in Euphoria?

Well, spilling the beans on how he landed the role in the HBO series, he unveiled, “I was on a Steve Harvey show for boxing, and the casting director called after the show – and was wondering if I was interested in trying acting. And I did that project, but like my priority now – is boxing. Like that’s where my heart is.”

Paul has a pivotal fight coming up against UFC veteran Nate Diaz that has propelled fans into a frenzy. The bout will be hosted this weekend at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. And it looks like Paul’s new apprentice will be cheering for him from the stands.
